The Art of Teaching Yoga
Aloha Healing Center is pleased to announce the 200-Hour Teacher Training Certification program. This is a hands-on, in studio program for beginners new to Yoga and experienced students wanting to deepen their practice. The curriculum will include a comprehensive study of the foundations, techniques, and mechanics of fundamental yoga postures with an emphasis on deepening the student’s personal practice and recognizing and honoring it as the source for inspiration and creative teaching.
200 Hour Teacher Training Program
•Techniques Training/Practice—Includes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting,
mantra, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques. These hours must be a mix between (1) analytical training in how to teach and practice the techniques, and (2) guided practice of the techniques themselves; both areas must receive substantial emphasis.
•Teaching Methodology—Includes principles of demonstration, observation,
assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student's process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga.
•Anatomy & Physiology—Includes both human physical anatomy and physiology
(bodily systems, organs, etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.). Includes both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc).
•Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers—Includes the study
of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers.
•Practicum—Includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others
teaching and hearing/giving feedback. Also includes assisting students while someone else is teaching.
The program will qualify graduates to become RYTs (Registered Yoga Teachers) with Yoga Alliance. It is this accreditation that is recognized by Yoga Studios, Fitness Clubs, Hospitals, Universities and Community Colleges, Community Centers, Public Schools, Wellness Centers, etc., that hire yoga teachers. Along with a deeper spiritual appreciation for Yoga, program attendees will be taught safe asana instructional techniques, overall teaching methodologies, anatomy, class design, observational skills, and social awareness
We are a Yoga Alliance certified school.
Once you have graduated with us you may apply with Yoga Alliance. Upon paying their dues
